In the Coachella Valley, homelessness isn't someone else's problem – it's happening right here, to people who used to have homes just like yours. One medical emergency. One job loss. One missed paycheck. That's all it takes.

Your neighbor worked at the same company for twelve years. Had a house, drove to work every day, took her kid to soccer practice on weekends.
Then she got sick. Really sick. The medical bills came first, then the missed work, then the impossible choice between rent and treatment.
Six months later, she was living in her car with her child.
Most people think homelessness happens to "other people" – addicts, criminals, people who made bad choices.
The truth is simpler and scarier: it happens to people who ran out of money before they ran out of problems.
When you don't have a home, everything becomes harder. You can't get a job because you don't have an address. You can't get an address because you don't have a job.
Your kids ask why they can't go home. You tell them it's temporary, but you stop believing it yourself.
You start to feel invisible. Like the person you used to be never existed.

At CVRM, families find something they haven't had in months: people who look at them like they're still worth helping. Like they still matter.
They get a safe place to sleep. Kids get to be kids again instead of watching their parents worry about tomorrow.
CVRM doesn't just give people a place to sleep. We provide job training, help with housing applications, counseling, childcare – everything someone needs to get back on their feet permanently.
Most people only need help for a few months. But those months mean everything.

There's a moment when someone hands you the keys to your own place again. When your kids can finally unpack their backpacks for good.

Rent keeps going up. Wages don't. Medical emergencies happen. Cars break down.
The difference between having a home and losing everything is often just a few hundred dollars. More of your neighbors are living that close to the edge than you might realize.
But there are still people in our community without homes. And that number grows every month.
When you give to CVRM, you're not just providing a service.
You're telling someone they matter. That their family matters. That they deserve a chance to rebuild.
You're giving them something money can't buy: hope that tomorrow can be different.
